Actor Lewis Stadlen discusses ‘Hello, Dolly!’ role as national tour takes flight

The curmudgeonly character Horace Vandergelder is the latest in a long list of great comedic roles for character actor Lewis Stadlen, a 48-year Broadway veteran.

He’s playing the dour “half-a-millionaire” from Yonkers opposite Broadway legend Betty Buckley as the title character in the national tour of “Hello, Dolly!”
